Another point, which actually seems likely from witness accounts of the shooting, is that James Holmes probably did NOT use tear gas, but some kind of relatively ineffective smoke bomb.

No they didn’t assume any legal liability. Patrons had a choice, to use their services or not. The correct way to drive them into bankruptcy is to stop using their services.

Another option is to just carry anyway, and screw Cinemark.

Colorado does not have a mandated penalty for ignoring those no guns signs, unless the sign is on a public building with guards and a metal detector.

The most that can happen is getting trespassed by an irate manager.

SECOND, don’t you realize that the first wave of transformation from democracy to totalitarianism is amending any and ALL legal documents to restrict individual liberties. We see that happening now with that rag, THE PATRIOT ACT, AND that new law that was passed allowing police/law to enter your property without a warrant to conduct a search if they suspect national security is at stake…just broad enough to empower the abuse of law abiding citizens.
