The textbook definition of monopoly power is when a firm or industry achieves higher profits by restricting production than by increasing it! Big Oil often claims to want more production, but, interestingly, spends ZERO money on bribing Congress to open-up production. The pro-global warming propaganda expenditures and environmentalist propaganda in general is laundered through the great Foundations, etc.

I wish it were true that the “global warming” coalition buying scientific consensus had no buyers from the right. Unfortunately, it’s not true. Margaret Thatcher was an early proponent. Newt Gingrich, John McCain, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mitt Romney have all said they believe in global warming and lent support to cap & trade — and I’m getting early reports from analysis of her emails that as governor of Alaska Sarah Palin did, too.
